I'm pleased to be one of the counsellors in the K-W area that you may choose to work with prior to starting your fertility treatments. I'm looking forward to working together with you as you prepare for the journey ahead.
Counselling sessions are available via phone or video.

FEE:
The session fee is $175.00 for a 60 minute session.
The fee includes our 60 minute session and a formal counselling summary report that I will send to your fertility doctor.
Payments are made at the time of each session by e-Transfer or PayPal.
NOTE: I work as a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) and a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist (RMFT) and am covered under some insurance benefits as such.

Complete the 3 page Counselling Worksheet and send it as a scan or photo to Shannon@LifeAfterMiscarriage.ca
Completing these forms helps me to tailor our session to your individual needs and helps me to make the most of our time

Topics discussed in your session may include:
- the impact fertility has had on your life
- emotional stresses and decision-making challenges involved in your treatments
- social and relationship stress involved with fertility
- treatments that involve using donor sperm, egg(s), embryos, or using a surrogate
- past pregnancy losses
- any issues relevant to reducing your stress
Following our session I will forward a short summary report to your fertility clinic to confirm your participation in counselling

Q: Is counselling required prior to starting fertility treatments?
A: Yes. Counselling is required under the Assisted Human Reproduction Act for all patients undergoing treatment.
Q: What are the benefits to fertility counselling?
A: Counselling provides the opportunity for you to discuss the impact of fertility on your life. Counselling helps patients cope with the new stresses of fertility treatments. Patients that participate in counselling report lower stress during treatments and this can lead to better outcomes.
